We will draw up the hazardous substances register for you and assist you in selecting less hazardous alternatives. In this way, we ensure that your company complies with the law whilst also improving the health and safety of your employees.
Once the register has been compiled, it is important to ensure that all the information in the hazardous substances register is always up to date. An update is required whenever a new or revised safety data sheet is issued. In general, an annual review of the entire register is recommended.
According to Section 6, Paragraph 12 of the German Ordinance on Hazardous Substances (GefStoffV), every company is obliged to maintain a register of all hazardous substances used in its operations – the so-called hazardous substances register. This includes not only the production of raw materials but also everyday auxiliary substances such as cleaning or disinfecting agents.
The entries are generally based on the safety data sheet. From this, key obligations are derived, such as compliance with occupational exposure limits, storage requirements, or the implementation of technical and organizational protective measures.
The register is not only a key tool in occupational safety but also a legally required document subject to inspection. It must be kept up to date and maintained by a qualified person – this person does not necessarily need to be employed within the company.
We prepare and update your safety data sheets. With our many years of experience in chemicals legislation and the assessment of hazardous substances, we can assist you quickly, reliably and on time.
