Definition
Aerosol dispensers are non-reuseable containers made of metal, glass or plastic that contain compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases under pressure as a popellant. They are equipped with a dispensing device that allows the contents to be released in the form of foam, paste, powder or liquid. Examples include deodorant, shaving foam and whipped cream spray.

Aerosol dispensers are subject to specific legal requirements regarding safety, labeling and transport, which differ from regulations for conventional packaging. These include, among others, requirements for the pressure resistance of the containers, safety and warning labels, as well as classification as hazardous materials during transport.
